The Western Canadian Hungarian Folk Festival was first hosted in 1979 in Vancouver.  It has since been hosted by various dance groups in their respective cities in Western Canada every year.  The Festival is now in its 38th consecutive year.

The Festival is an annual testament to how alive and cherished the Hungarian culture is in Western Canada.  Organizers, dance groups and many volunteers spend an entire year planning, and creating an annual unique experience for folk enthusiasts of all ages.  Due to the dedication of these groups, every Thanksgiving over 300 dancers, musicians and folk enthusiasts are brought together to showcase their talents, learn and socialize.
