About The Festival
For the past 38 years, Western Canadian cities have hosted the annual Western Canadian Hungarian Folk Festival with great success. This festival is a 3 day event held during the Thanksgiving weekend where Hungarian culture, music, art and dance come alive and bring together hundreds of dancers, musicians and folk enthusiasts. This year, Calgary has the immense pleasure of hosting the 38th annual event in this beautiful and vibrant city. Calgary’s folk dance groups, Bartók Dancers and Vadrózsa, look forward to welcoming the many dancers, folk enthusiasts and wonderful guests. This year’s festival will focus on not only keeping folk traditions alive and well but also on passing it on to future generations with programs designed specifically for children. Come join us and experience Hungarian folk culture: October 7-10, 2016.
